PRODUCTION MANAGER FOOD INDUSTRY Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Production Manager will be responsible for various tasks that support the overall operation of the production on shift. Essential Job Functions: • Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring and training while supervising and indirectly coordinating activities of 100+ employees. • Direct, manages and controls production process through product preparation area, freezer, processing, packaging and sanitation. • Coordinates plant activities through detailed planning with supervisors and managers to ensure plant objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner. • Determine materials, equipment, labour requirements and ensure availability to meet production targets. • Participate with engineering and maintenance to develop new capital or special projects which relate improvement in production lines. • Develop, implement and update SOPs. Implement and update quality control standards and develop and run tests for new product development in conjunction with QA Mgr. and R&D group. • Develop, track, communicate and report the operational KPI’s. Prepare and report data analysis to contribute in maintaining and developing cost standards. • Constantly works with CI Leader to identify and implement process improvements that benefit the overall cost of goods and increase the performance of the production line. • Participate, update, coordinate, and implement policies and procedures for elements of the safety program. • Perform duties in a safe manner following the Company Health and Safety policies and procedures. Successful candidates must possess the following: • University Degree or equivalent in food science, industrial engineer technologist or manufacturing experience • 10 years’ experience in the food industry • Green Belt on six sigma or lean manufacturing • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Excellent ability to troubleshoot and anticipate problems • Sound knowledge of OHSA, GMP, HACCP and quality systems • Willingness to work varied hours if needed
